Damián Querol Bonet Appointed New Regional Director of the Madrid Chapter
PRMIA announces today the appointment of Damián Querol Bonet as the new Regional Director of the Madrid Chapter. In his role as Analysis Director at Banco Gallego he is responsible for the active portfolio and risk management of the managed accounts, for the products valuation and for the quantitative/qualitative selection of Mutual and Hedge Funds. Previously, Damián was Senior Financial and Risk Consultant at Thomson Reuters, being in charge of the development and implementation of market and credit risk tools and of the structured and treasury products consultancy for Spain, Portugal and Andorra. His more than 15 years of experience in the Financial Markets has allowed him to acquire a wide view of the main players in the industry, having worked for Banks, Saving Banks and for Bolsas y Mercados Españoles (the organized financial market in Spain), and to have a good understanding of the necessities of their professionals.
Damián has been involved in the academic and executive education for more than 10 years as associate teacher or postgraduate consultant for several universities and business schools (Instituto de Empresa, Universidad Carlos III, Universidad Francisco Vitoria, Instituto de Estudios Financieros, etc). Damián obtained a B.Sc. in Business Administration with a specialization in Actuarial and Financial Sciencies, a Certified EFFAS Financial Analyst, a MDP in Alternative Investments and Hedge Funds, and is completing his P.HD. in Mathematical Methods in Financial Economics. Damián is member of the Professional Risk Managers International Association and of the Spanish Institute of Financial Analysts (IEAF), and he uses to collaborate with publications like Intereconomía, El Economista, Cinco Días, Estrategias de Inversión and Citywire.
As chapter leader Damián and the Madrid Steering Committee will work to put together a steering committee of twelve members to help the chapter achieve their goals. Chapter goals include increasing the Madrid chapter membership and offering chapter events on up to date risk management topics with high profile speakers. The chapter will also focus on promoting the PRM certification by building partnerships with main business/finance schools in Madrid as well as Human Resource departments of banks. Additionally, they will promote the PRM at all chapter events. The chapter will also be creating a quarterly newsletter.
