Alex POR Peng Seong new Regional Director for PRMIA Malaysia
PRMIA announces today the appointment of Alex POR Peng Seong as the new Regional Director of the PRMIA Malaysia Chapter (formerly Kuala Lumpur). Alex is the Head of the Risk Management Division for the United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd. He is responsible for the risk management function of the bank and his areas of coverage includes credit risk, market risk, operational risk and balance sheet risk.
Alex is replacing the former Regional Director of the Kuala Lumpur chapter, Dr Joseph Ruin. As Regional Director, he and the Malaysia Steering Committee will be focusing on holding quarterly meetings for the Malaysia membership that will focus on topics relevant to the circumstances faced by the industry on risk matters. They will be working towards two streams of events, one for conventional banking and the other for Islamic banking. The chapter will also be working to contact institutions of higher learning and tap the entrance of new graduates to the market, introducing them to the world of risk management. Lastly, the chapter will focus on mobilizing existing PRMIA members and finding ways for them to become more engaged.
PRMIA would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr. Joseph Ruin for his contributions to the chapter as former Regional Director of the Kuala Lumpur chapter. His work to establish contacts, increase the membership and provide opportunities to the membership has helped to lay a base for the new Malaysia chapter to grow.
