New Co-Regional Director, Ron Cheshire, to jointly lead the Montréal Chapter
PRMIA proudly announces today the appointment of Ron Cheshire as the new Co-Regional Director of the Montréal Chapter. Ron is currently Vice President with Triasima Portfolio Management, Inc. and has more than 20 years of experience in investment and risk management, team building and leadership, portfolio management, business and partnership development.
He has served on the PRMIA Montréal Steering Committee for three years, organizing and moderating a variety of events. Ron also serves as a Co-Chair of the mentorship program of the Montréal CFA Society which pairs emerging leaders with experienced leaders recognizing that people continually learn from others and mentoring is a unique way to encourage this process.
Ron was a Managing Director with Natixis Capital Partners in London, UK, a private equity firm involved in real estate sale-leaseback transactions in Europe, as well as the Chief Investment Officer of Presima, a former real estate affiliate of the Caisse de Dépôt et placement du Québec investing in publicly traded real estate securities worldwide.
He holds a Master of Business Administration from Concordia University and a Bachelor in Economics from Carleton University as well as the Chartered Investment Manager designation.
Ron will be partnering with co-Regional Director Mr. Fréderic Blondeau. PRMIA would like to take this opportunity to thank Montréal's former Co-Regional Director, Mr. Faruk Patel, for his tremendous contributions to the Montréal chapter and PRMIA.
Ron's goals for PRIMA Montréal are to build upon the success achieved over the past several years with the launch of the bursary program and our specialized educational programs to support the development and growth of dynamic risk managers and professionals. He will continue his work with other professional associations in the furtherance of the PRMIA mission including connecting practitioners, researchers, students and others interested in the field of risk management.
By taking a leadership role, risk management professionals can help steward and shape the sustainable organizations of the future.
