Scott Pittendrigh and Michael McIntyre new Co-Regional Directors of PRMIA Ottawa
PRMIA announces today the appointment of Scott Pittendrigh and Michael McIntyre as Co-Regional Directors of PRMIA Ottawa.
Scott Pittendrigh is a Senior Analyst at the Treasury Board Secretariat of Canada. His work focuses on the measurement and mathematical modeling of IT risks and their management. Previously he worked at the Federal Department of Finance in the financial markets/institutions divisions and fiscal policy. Before joining the Government of Canada, Scott worked as an actuarial consultant at Hewitt Associates (Chicago, Toronto). He continues to play an active role as a board member on several family-owned Saskatchewan-based energy companies and a Toronto-based distressed real estate investment firm. He completed his undergraduate and graduate education at Queens University where he studied mathematics and operations research.
Michael McIntyre is an Associate Professor of Finance at Carleton University. He is an active researcher in the areas of governance and financial risk management, the latter with a focus on derivative securities and financial mathematics. His research supports his consulting work in both the public and private sectors, which involves various applications of financial risk management concepts and stochastic modeling to determine capital levels. He brings to these endeavors knowledge gained from his Ph.D. in management from Queen's University, and practical experience gained as a Canadian Chartered Accountant and as a banker with one of Canada's big five banks.
Scott and Michael will be replacing Eduardo Rodriguez, former Regional Director of the Ottawa Chapter. Scott and Michael will focus on organizing chapter events, bringing leading edge knowledge to practitioners and provide networking opportunities for new and established PRMIA members. They will work to coordinate with neighboring chapters and take advantage of speakers presenting in their area. They will create better Ottawa-based networks to establish PRMIA Ottawa as a venue where successful financial and risk professionals meet to create a sense of community in the area. Lastly, they will work to promote the PRM Certification within the city and with local Universities and Colleges.
PRMIA would like to take this opportunity to thank Eduardo Rodriguez for his contributions to the Ottawa chapter and PRMIA during his time as Regional Director from October 2008-June 2010.
