New Co-Regional Directors to lead the Philippines Chapter
PRMIA announces today the appointment of Rafael Dayrit and Rossana Javier as Co-Regional Directors of PRMIA Philippines.
Rafael Dayrit is the Senior Vice President and Head of Credit Risk for Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation. He has over 25 years banking experience in the areas of corporate and middle market account management, credit, management of problem loans, and corporate risk management. He has been conferred the "Sterling Performance Award" by a government loan guaranty corporation for managing a loan portfolio with zero guaranty calls for eight consecutive years and the only banker to be given this distinction.
Rafael completed his B.S. Agricultural Business and MBA degrees from the University of the Philippines. He was a fellow of the Hubert H. Humphrey North-South Fellowship of the Fulbright Foundation where he took up Agricultural Economics at the University of California, Davis, USA. He is married with two children.
Rossana Javier is a Managing Partner-Advisory with Isla Lipana & Co/ PricewaterhouseCoopers and Managing Director and CEO for PricewaterhouseCoopers Financial Advisors, Inc. She has oversight responsibilities over the delivery of Governance, Risk and Compliance, Internal Audit, Fraud Review, Finance and IT Function Effectiveness, Process Improvement & Change management consulting services. She is a member of the firm's management board and risk management partner for the Advisory practice. She also served as external audit engagement partner for many years and spent almost seven (7) years with another accounting firm in Indonesia prior to joining PwC Manila.
In addition to being a Certified Public Accountant, she earned international accreditations as a Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Control Self-Assessment Specialist, and Certified Fraud Examiner. She became President of the Institute of Internal Auditors, Philippines and the Rotary Club of Amorsolo. She received recognition as Outstanding Alumna in the Field of Accountancy - UST College of Commerce and Phil. Institute of Certified Public Accountants' Young Lady Achievers Award for Public Practice.
Rafael, Rossana and the Philippines steering committee will focus on holding chapter events to share knowledge and experiences in risk management. Their short-term goal is to revitalize the current membership and extend the chapter membership to a broader base focusing on members outside the banking sector. As a mid-term goal they would like to hold regular PRM preparatory review classes. Long-term, the chapter will work to prepare PRMIA's engagement for advocacy to the public sector.
