PRMIA Appoints Johan Brodin as Regional Director for the Sweden Chapter

PRMIA announces today the appointment of Johan Brodin to the position of Regional Director for the PRMIA Sweden Chapter. Johan is currently the Chief Risk Officer for Sveriges Bostadsfinansieringsaktiebolag (SBAB) and in his role he is responsible for Group Credits and Group Risk Control.

Johan will be replacing Cecilia Ardstrom as Regional Director of the Sweden Chapter. Johan plans to focus building further on the platform that has already been established by the Sweden chapter by increasing awareness around risk management within the local financial market. He will continue to hold four events a year, two during the spring and two during the fall. Johan would like to increase the number of participants to PRMIA chapter meetings by utilizing other forms of reminders than emails, having more frequent communication from the local steering committee to the membership and by using personal contacts within the local PRMIA organization and within the industry to market events.

In addition to the above event goals, Johan feels that it is important to increase the level of seniority (age) both in the chapter membership and members that attend events. The benefit of adding more senior risk professionals would be twofold, in that they will add a different perspective and might be able to draw additional participants to chapter events.

There are two areas that Johan would like to expand chapter involvement and activity. With the upcoming regulatory changes with Solvency II and the number of professionals that work in the insurance industry the chapter is going to focus on increasing their penetration into the insurance industry, by having an insurance representative on the steering committee. Lastly, the chapter would like to increase awareness of PRMIA in the local academic world, with their long term goal to have a Swedish University endorsing the PRM.

PRMIA would like to take this opportunity to thank Cecilia for her contributions to the Sweden chapter and PRMIA centrally. Cecilia served the Sweden membership as Regional Director from 2007 – 2009.

PRMIA would like to acknowledge the Steering Committee members of the Sweden chapter that will help the chapter achieve their goals:
•Ms. Karin Friberg, CRO, IF P&C
•Mr. Mattias Pettersson, Senior Credit Risk Analyst, Swedbank
•Mr. Lars Soderlind, Senior Advisor, Finansinspektionen
•Ms. Katrina Utterstrom, Head of Risk and Financial Control, Third Swedish National Pension Fund
•Mr. Andre Wallenberg, Partner, Pricewaterhouse Coopers
