Mr. Jamal Saleh leads PRMIA UAE as the New Regional Director
PRMIA announces today the appointment of Mr. Jamal Saleh as the new Regional Director of the United Arab Emirates Chapter (UAE). He is an Arab-American banker with 21 years of banking experience (10 in New York and 11 in the UAE) in Risk Management, Credit, Corporate Banking, Private Banking, and Asset Management.
Jamal is presently heading Risk Management at Commercial Bank of Dubai (UAE) where he is responsible for Credit, Market and Operational Risk, as well as IT-GRC, Corporate Governance, and the implementation of Basel II.
He graduated valedictorian (summa cum laude) from the United States, and is the holder of several professional certifications in finance, risk management, accountancy, and financial engineering. He is a frequent speaker at local, regional and international risk management forums, and is a regular guest on regional TV business channels.
Jamal will be replacing Kostas Giannopoulos as Regional Director of the UAE Chapter. As chapter leader he and the UAE Steering Committee will focus their efforts on increasing the branding and credibility of PRMIA as the number one knowledge platform in the risk management industry. In addition to holding chapter meetings which will concentrate on research, insurance and other new risk management topics, Jamal will also be focusing on university awareness of the PRM certification.
PRMIA would like to take this opportunity to thank Kostas Giannopoulos for his contributions to the UAE chapter and PRMIA. Kostas served the UAE membership as Regional Director from 2002 – 2009. Kostas' leadership of the chapter’s activities and personal commitment of time and guidance have had a positive impact on the risk community in the UAE and PRMIA thanks him for his time, energy and support.
