Chapter Update: Recent Lessons from the Great Recession

On June 1st we had an excellent chapter meeting in which David Rowe of David Rowe Risk Advisors covered some of his observations around risk management practices and principles, and key lessons from the Great Recession. Several attendees were informed of the event and made reservations through our MeetUp! site, including a couple of potential candidates to fill several vacancies on our DC-PRMIA Steering Committee.

We want to thank IBM for hosting the event. The facilities were excellent and DC Regional Directors are meeting with IBM this week to discuss further collaboration opportunities. Also, please refer to our Slideshare presentation about the DC-Chapter and some of its 2010 and 2011 objections.

We are happy to note that our collaboration with the Center for Financial Policy is in process and your DCSC will be meeting with GWU in the coming weeks to better address some of your input on the Complete Course in Risk Management.

Remember to keep in touch with the Chapter. You can do this though Twitter @dcprmia, LinkedIn, MeetUp! and of course traditional e-mail. The RD's can be reached via dc.prmia@gmail.com. Note that on the LinkedIn DC Chapter site and Twitter there are some good articles referenced regarding the G-20 Summit. There were some significant changes in tone, thankfully, regarding the recognition of the unsustainable fiscal policies within and among member nations.

Enjoy your weekend! It's a beautiful day in the District.
