PRMIA Chapters in London and New York Register 10,000th Members
PRMIA London first to cross threshold
London, August 13, 2007 - PRMIA today announced that its two largest chapters, PRMIA London and PRMIA New York, have during the past week both registered their 10,000th members.
With industry-leading events and major international support, both chapters now count over 10,000 subscribers to their local news and activities. PRMIA London was the first to cross the threshold early on Wednesday August 8th, with PRMIA New York crossing the threshold later that same day. As of today, PRMIA London counts 10,087 members and PRMIA New York has 10,026.
"The growth in the London Chapter has been amazing, reaching 10,000 members in just 5 years and still expanding by 20% a year," said Geoff Kates, PRMIA London Regional Director and Chair of the PRMIA Board of Directors. "Our seminar programs, including 16 events over the last year, and the interest in the PRM exam, have certainly been key factors."
PRMIA London has featured events that almost always reach capacity. Annually, a dozen events are jointly organized with ISDA. The next session on Economic Capital Methodology is to be held August 14th at the ISDA offices. Over 80 delegates are participating in PRM training in London and the PRMIA Institute is offering a training program on Hedge Fund Risk Management October 1-2, 2007.
PRMIA New York has focused its energies on a series on one-day forums that touch cutting-edge issues in risk. Its 2007 Frontiers in Credit Risk Forum was one of the highest-rated PRMIA events ever and its upcoming Frontiers in Operational Risk and Capital Allocation Forum and Hedge Fund and Proprietary Trading Risk Management Forum feature the leading practitioners, regulators and academics in the field.
"Our chapters are comprised of risk professionals who, near or far, all appreciate that PRMIA is unique and produces a higher standard of benefits," said James Tunkey, Regional Director of PRMIA New York. "Since PRMIA was founded, volunteers from the cradle to the pinnacle of the risk function have worked tirelessly to make PRMIA a vibrant and influential group."
The PRMIA New York chapter has also maintained a robust C-Suite roundtable program, gathering leading CROs and heads of market, credit and operational risk from the area's top firms.
All PRMIA events, including those at PRMIA London and PRMIA New York can be found online at the PRMIA website.
