Nationalization is no panacea for all ills and for all institutions. Year 2008 is an year of nationalization and bail-outs alright. But how does nationalization of rating agencies help the delinquency of the agencies. As long as paymasters call the shots, the situation does notimprove. Second, the impunity of the erring rating agencies and their non-accountability would only enhance with their nationalization. Unless the errand is punished the situation would be that these rating agencies hand out solutions that would protect themselves on one side and also bring under one umbrella their misjudgements as honorific throughout the globe.
