Submitting Credits

How to Submit CRL Credits

CRL Credits are self-reported online through the CRL center, accessed via your My Profile. The CRL Center will automatically display the dashboard for your current CRL period, where you can add and manage eligible CRL activities and supporting documentation—see CRL Center User Guide.

When to Submit CRL Credits

CRL credits for both CRL programs should be reported in the calendar year that they are completed.

CRL Program credits are tracked and displayed in your CRL Center by the calendar year for which they were reported; this is termed the reporting period. CRL credits may be submitted for the current and previous calendar year.

PRM CRL Program credits are tracked and displayed in your CRL Center by annual recertification period. Recertification is required each calendar year after initial certification. Credits must be submitted in the calendar year prior to January 1 of a recertification period to maintain continuous Certified status.

The recertification process starts right after you pass the PRM exam, but the 20 CRL credit requirement is waived for the remainder of the calendar year you become certified and your first recertification period.

Example
Certification date: February 12, 2016

Calendar Year 2016:
20 CRL Credit Requirement Waived for remainder of 2016
20 CRL Credit Requirement Waived for 2017 Recertification Period
No CRL credits need to be submitted during 2016

Calendar Year 2017:
20 CRL Credit Requirement Waived for 2017 Recertification Period
20 CRL Credit Requirement Begins for 2018 Recertification Period
A minimum of 20 CRL credits should be submitted during 2017

Assuming the certificant maintains continuous Sustaining or C-Suite membership and minimum experience requirements, Certified status will begin on February 12, 2016—CRL credits are not required for the initial year of certification, but the certificant may still submit credits if they wish—and the certificant's first recertification period of 2017 will open. The requirement to report 20 CRL credits by December 31, 2016 to maintain certified status on January 1, 2017 is waived, but the certificant may still submit credits for the 2017 recertification period if they wish.

The calendar advances to January 1, 2017, the 2018 recertification period opens, and the 2016 period closes. For the 2018 recertification period the requirement to earn 20 CRL credits is no longer waived, and the certificant has until December 31, 2017 to report 20 CRL credits to continue with Certified status on January 1, 2018. On January 1, 2018, the 2019 recertification period opens, and the 2017 recertification period closes. The certificant has until December 31, 2018 to report 20 CRL credits for the 2019 recertification period, this continues indefinitely.

Status for each recertification period is initially determined on January 1 and is updated throughout the recertification period until December 31 when a final status is determined (see Status Determination).
