PRMIA OPENS NEW CHAPTER IN PARIS, NAMES EULIA CHIEF RISK OFFICER, CHRISTIAN JIMENEZ, AS FIRST REGIONAL DIRECTOR

March 10, 2003 The Professional Risk Managers’ International Association (PRMIA) is pleased to announce that it has opened PRMIA Paris, its 36th local chapter, and that Christian Jimenez, the Chief Risk Officer for EULIA has been selected as the first Regional Director for the chapter.

Dr. Jimenez was nominated to lead the chapter by the new PRMIA Paris Steering Committee. Steering Committee members include:

PRMIA seeks to serve its members through promoting standards and education in the risk management profession and through promoting the free exchange of ideas. Local chapters like PRMIA Paris host free meetings that address the needs of the local risk management community. PRMIA also offers the Professional Risk Manager (PRM) program at five testing centers in France, including three in Paris and will be hosting its inaugural European Summit in Paris on April 7th where Jean-Claude Trichet, Governor of the Banque de France, will open the day.

We are extremely pleased that Christian will be filling this role and that he has such a strong Steering Committee to support efforts to connect risk managers in France," said David R. Koenig, Chair of PRMIA’s Board of Directors.

"PRMIA Paris will be active in raising awareness about PRMIA in France, promoting professional development through the PRM program, launching working groups and generally seeking to advance risk management in France," said Dr. Jimenez.

Christian Jimenez is the Chief Risk Officer for Compagnie Financière EULIA in Paris and has served in that position since January of 2002. Prior to that he has been the Chief Investment Officer of CNCEP (Caisse Nationale des Caisses d’Epargne et de Prévoyance), the CEO of SURASSUR, the Deputy Chief Financial Officer of Caisse d’Epargne Group and has held positions with BNP and the Banque de France. He is the past Chairman of AFGAP (Association Française des Gestionnaires d’Actif-Passif), a French ALM society. He has his PhD in Economics and from 1979 to 1984, was an Economics Professor at Paris University.
