FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - CONTACT NEWS@PRMIA.ORG PRMIA AND RISK WATERS ANNOUNCE PLANS TO OFFER PRMIA CONFERENCES DURING 2003 IN EUROPE, ASIA AND NORTH AMERICA October 1, 2002 The Professional Risk Managers’ International Association (PRMIA) is pleased to announce that Risk Waters group has partnered with PRMIA to offer global meetings to its members and the profession in 2003.The partnership is based on plans to offer 1-day conferences tied to Risk Conference’s present RISK USA and RISK Europe Congresses in Boston and Paris, respectively. In addition, PRMIA and Risk Waters will be developing a 1-day conference in Asia to be held later in 2003. “Of course, this is a banner day for PRMIA” said David R. Koenig, Chair of the Interim Board of Directors of PRMIA. “Risk Conferences are among the best in the industry and their company is committed to serving our profession. They approached us very early in our development and we have finally reached a time where we feel the planning of such large gatherings will make sense for our members” “We are pleased to be associated with PRMIA,” commented Risk Waters Conference Director Richard Keown. “We believe that the PRMIA 1-day conferences will provide unique information to PRMIA members and will benefit from the success of Risk Waters’ established, industry-leading flagship conferences, which continue to grow year on year.” The arrangement provides for Risk Conferences to perform all administrative tasks related to the conferences and to assume all financial risks. PRMIA will help with the crafting of the agenda, recruitment of speakers and will receive a percentage of the gross revenues from the events. The awarding of this arrangement came following the submission of proposals to the PRMIA Board from six leading conference companies. “PRMIA continues to look at offerings in the industry that will be of benefit to our members. We will continue to endorse events by other conference producers, work with other companies and associations, in the same fashion that we have done in the past,” said Koenig. “But, this special relationship came at the request of our members and is a more focused effort to bring PRMIA members and other professionals to larger, more global events.” ###
