Speakers
Martina Keane is an Assurance partner within EY's Financial Services Group specialising in banking and treasury. She works extensively across the Irish and UK banking landscape serving both audit and advisory clients.
Martina has significant experience leading large teams in an environment where there is on-going change. She has detailed knowledge of IFRS, particularly loan loss provisioning, derivatives and hedging, and she regularly advises clients on complex accounting and technical issues. She is the lead audit partner of a significant Irish Bank and is also a lead partner on IFRS 9 implementation for another Irish Bank.
Martina was one of the lead partners in delivering detailed design for the finance function of a major UK Bank where over 600 branches were separated into another operating entity. She has excellent knowledge and commercial experience of IAS 39, IFRS 9 and various provision methodologies and applications.
In addition to her business degree, she also holds a Masters in accounting from University College Dublin. She is a qualified chartered accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.
Conor Griffin is an Executive Director with EY's Financial Services Advisory team in Dublin and leads a team of financial services risk professionals providing banks and other financial services firms with prudential and non-prudential risk and regulatory advice and solutions. Conor is also a member of the PRMIA Ireland Steering Committee.
Conor has been helping a number of domestic and international banks with IFRS 9 implementation over the past number of years. He has over 15 years of experience within the Financial Services industry, where he has held positions in banking and professional advisory services, which has included a number of periods of secondment to the Central Bank of Ireland. He previously worked with the Risk Consulting practice of Arthur Andersen, and also for JP Morgan in London in their fixed income derivatives middle office and collateral management functions. He holds an M.Sc. in Finance and a B.A. (Hons) in European Business Studies.
