Mario Schlener, Partner at EY - Leader, FS Risk and Risk Solutions, Canada
Mario is a risk expert with 20 years of financial industry experience, especially with implementing global ERM, compliance, modelling and analytics frameworks/platforms for global financial institutions. Mario worked for 10 years for one of the largest banks in Europe/EEC as an account manager for SME clients, as well as part of the fixed income trading, fixed income analytics and CLO structuring departments. Since 2007, Mario has been working in the risk advisory industry and supporting banks in transforming “How we do risk management”. In his spare time, Mario teaches at university and works on various research papers. Research topics include the impact of machine learning and AI algorithms to enhance market microstructure insights, and the development of new utility functions to explain time-inconsistent decision patterns.
Georgios Depastas, Co-Founder at Kalepso
As the co-founder of Kalepso, Georgios’ vision is to build a world where all confidential data remains as it should be - private- while enabling financial institutions to fully leverage the power of cutting-edge tech.
Georgios previously founded a fintech startup in London, and was the Head of the Real-time Big Data Analytics product for Barclays.
An engineer at heart, he holds an MPhil Industrial Systems Management from the University of Cambridge, as well as an MEng Electrical and Computer.
His personal confessions: he is obsessed with Product and a bungee lover.
