Deirdre will outline her thoughts, observations and insights gained during her first twelve months as CRO of an SSM regulated bank. She will draw on her years of experience in US FED regulated international banking and more recently in the NTMA and explain how this compares to what she has observed over the last twelve months in AIB.

Deirdre Hannigan, MBS, FCCA - Chief Risk Officer
Ms Hannigan joined AIB as Chief Risk Officer and a member of the Banks Executive Leadership Team in April 2017. She has extensive experience and knowledge of the financial services industry. She joined AIB from the National Treasury Management Agency were she was Chief Risk Officer and chaired the Executive Risk Committee. In prior years she held a number of senior International risk management roles with GE Capital. Before joining GE Capital she held progressively senior roles in Bank of Ireland primarily in Strategy and Risk Management. The early part of Ms Hannigan’s career was spent working in Retail and Corporate Banking with AIB and Rabobank. In 2010 she was admitted as a Chartered Director to the Institute of Directors in London.
