SMCR for Asset Managers - Advice and Practical Action
PRMIA London and Simmons & Simmons invite you to an evening seminar in relation to the extension of the Senior Managers’ Regime to Asset Managers.

In July 2017 the FCA announced the Senior Managers and Certification Regime was going to be extended to all FSMA firms. This regime has broad implications on all firms subject to it, including in relation to the individual accountability of senior managers, moving the onus for assessment of fitness and propriety onto firms and rolling out wide conduct rules to most staff. The regime is now coming into force in December 2019.
Some of the issues faced by FSMA firms in practice are likely to include matters such as proportionate application, managing SMCR and parallel regulatory concerns/future proofing, the specific value for money prescribed responsibility, identification of the correct Senior Managers and territoriality considerations. As well as sharing the speakers’ experience on SMCR, the event gives participants a chance to hear from peer firms on their SMCR planning exercises.
