Date:
June 9, 2021
Time:
10:00 - 11:00 a.m. EDT
3:00 - 4:00 p.m. BST
Presented By:
Michael McDonnell
Founder & Managing Director, MMD Global Advisory
Session Length:
60 minutes
In this webinar, we look at a rough taxonomy of country crises, what sort of macro crises can transpire, and the non-linear dynamic they can assume. Mike will offer insights into the “structure” of a country risk crisis: how imbalances foster country fragility; which are the salient conditions underlying a crisis episode; and how an event or events can shift a country from fragility to crisis. We will also discuss what might be the “red flags” to watch for.
Participants will develop a greater awareness and sensitivity to conditions which can precipitate a country crisis event, being alert to macro inconsistencies which are no longer supportable. Fostering this perspective can help investors develop proactive investment and hedging strategies in the global environment.
