Location: Washington DC, near Dupont Circle Metro station
On November 8, 2017 over 20 leading industry, academic and government representatives gathered for lunch and informal discussions in Washington DC, as a precursor to PRMIA DC Chapter Forum on Redefining Financial Services Regulation, which featured Jared Sawyer, Deputy Assistant Secretary, Financial Institutions Policy, U.S. Department of the Treasury as keynote speaker. At the lunch, which was conducted under the Chatham House Rule, guest speakers introduced the topics of Global Financial Regulation Perspectives and Financial Stability, which prompted a lively and candid exchange of views with, and between, the other participants.
From the outset, the intention behind this gathering was to continue these discussions on a regular basis, in order to promote the exchange of views among senior representatives of each of the stakeholder groups and thereby influence the direction of reforms. PRMIA DC Chapter is pleased to announce a second, invitation-only, lunchtime discussion on this theme on Tuesday, May 22, 2018. The timing of this meeting is especially relevant, with financial services regulatory reform legislation already before Congress.
