About This Course
 

This course is an introduction and overview of the science of climate change and how this is impacting financial institutions today. We will discuss the transmission mechanisms through which climate change drives traditional risk types including financial and non-financial, the regulatory agenda for financial services organizations, and climate finance initiatives through which organizations can capitalize on climate-related opportunities.

The course will highlight examples of emerging best practice initiatives in financial institutions. We will cover the latest trends and key challenges that lie ahead and provide a strong foundation on climate change management for risk practitioners in the financial sector.

Joe is a Sustainable Finance Senior Consultant at BCS Consulting. He has a strong background in ESG and risk management. Joe has advised many financial institutions in sustainability topics, particularly in ESG Governance and IT enhancements for effective ESG management. Joe has also supported the development of BCS climate research in areas such as TCFD reporting and PRA compliance.

Hannah Peter is a Sustainable Finance Senior Consultant at BCS Consulting. As both an industry professional and management consultant she has developed deep risk management and ESG experience within financial services. She has a Green Finance Certificate from the Chartered Banker Institute and co-authored the BCS Consulting TCFD Global Progress Report for the Banking Sector publications in 2019 and 2021.

Frank Glock is a Sustainable Finance Consultant with strong risk management and ESG experience, specializing in the wealth and asset management industry. He has worked with firms on upcoming ESG regulatory initiatives, such as the EU Taxonomy, SFDR and TCFD, and has supported firms in understanding the data and operating model considerations to effectively implement ESG requirements.
