Workshop: Applying Artificial Intelligence in Risk Management – Workshop Only

Artificial Intelligence is rapidly transforming the way organizations identify, assess and manage risk. From enhancing decision-making and improving operational efficiency to introducing entirely new categories of risk, AI is becoming an essential capability for risk, compliance, audit and governance professionals. This two-day workshop provides a practical understanding of AI and its implications for modern risk management, enabling participants to use AI with greater confidence while understanding the challenges it presents.

Based on the PRMIA Artificial Intelligence Risk Management Certificate syllabus, the program combines the key concepts of AI, machine learning, and generative AI with practical demonstrations of leading AI tools. Participants will learn how AI can be used to support research, policy development, risk assessments, regulatory analysis, reporting, horizon scanning and executive communications, while gaining an appreciation of the technology's strengths, limitations, and appropriate use.

About This Course

Harness the power of Artificial Intelligence while understanding, governing and managing the risks it introduces. Learn practical techniques that can immediately enhance your effectiveness as a risk professional.

The workshop also explores the governance, regulatory and ethical dimensions of AI. Participants will examine emerging regulatory frameworks, AI governance principles, model risk, cyber security considerations, data privacy, bias and the importance of human oversight. Through real-world case studies, the course illustrates both successful AI adoption and notable failures, helping participants understand how to implement AI safely and responsibly within their own organizations.

Designed as a highly interactive program, the workshop incorporates live demonstrations, practical exercises, and group discussions throughout both days. Rather than focusing solely on theory, participants will work with AI tools to solve realistic business and risk management challenges, leaving with practical techniques, governance insights, and a clear understanding of how AI can enhance both individual productivity and organizational resilience.

What sets this apart:

  • Focused exclusively on risk management use cases — credit, market, operational & fraud
  • Real-world scenarios and demo sessions using free / no-code AI tools you can apply immediately
  • A practical “AI in Risk” toolkit: templates, policies, and an executable roadmap
  • Interactive cohort format: small groups, peer discussion, live Q&A — not just lectures
  • Governance and ethical frameworks built-in: how to deploy AI responsibly in regulated environments

Key takeaways:

By the end of this workshop, you will:

  • Understand how to map AI opportunities across risk domains and prioritize them for your organization
  • Be able to select and apply accessible AI tools (no coding required) to real-life risk challenges
  • Have built a risk-AI roadmap for your function including business case, governance, model validation and implementation steps
  • Know how to design and launch AI-enabled controls for fraud, operational loss, stress-testing and compliance
  • Be prepared to communicate effectively with senior management and regulators about AI in risk
